Goals

We are reviewing how we write our goals and I wanted to find out what other schools do. Is everyone using criteria like those from US systems: who is the goal for, what will the child do, to what level or degree, under what conditions, in what length of time? Do people have an overarching goal and then objectives? Do people write annual goals or goals just for the length of an intervention? Is your goal guidance different depending on whether students are accessing tier 2 or tier 3 support?

Is anyone using Shelley Moore's competency-based goal structure? Does anyone use WOOP to guide goal-setting?

If you have any guidance around consistency with goals, please share!

Tier 2 Plan?

Hi,

We are reviewing our documentation as we shift toward an adaptive tiered approach, and are wondering what other schools use to document support at Tier 2. We want something that allows us to be clear with parents, teachers, and providers what the student(s) are working on and towards, but that doesn't bog us down in too much paperwork. We'd also like to build a system that reinforces shared responsibility, with the knowledge that Tier 2 supports are not always planned or provided by members of the support department. Would love to hear how others are approaching this - and would love to see some examples if you can share!

Thanks!

Defining tiers

Hi! We're reviewing our documentation and processes and are clarifying our articulation of tiered support. Would anyone be willing to share their definitions/explanations that I could use as an example in our discussions? We're thinking about including characteristics such as frequency, duration, intensity, etc in our definitions and would love to see what other international schools are using as guidelines.

Once we've defined our process a little more, I'll share what we come up with on this thread, as well!

Information Management Systems: Recommendations?

Hi, We are exploring information management systems and are setting up demos with Branching Minds, Panorama, and Schoolytics. Are there other information management systems that people are using to track interventions and support? We'd also love to hear about home-grown systems that people are using, so please let me know if you have something you've designed internally. Thanks!
