Question about English language support in early years
Hi, we're trying to gather some information about how other schools structure their EAL support in the early years. In particular, we're wondering about ratios of Bi-Multilingual Learners to home language English learners in your play-based early years classrooms and also if your ratios distinguish between students with varying language proficiency levels (e.g., per class you can support this many newcomers to English, this many intermediate English language learners, etc).
We have lots of staff members who have come from places with strict ratios to support language learning in a sheltered immersion model, but we haven't found as much research around recommended ratios.
