Safeguarding Every Student: Applying the GSC School Safeguarding Framework in Diverse School Communities

Workshop Description

Effective safeguarding systems must be inclusive, responsive, and designed to meet the diverse needs of all students. In this highly practical workshop, participants will explore the Global Safeguarding Collaborative’s School Safeguarding Framework, a comprehensive, flexible, and user-friendly tool used by international schools worldwide to design, review, and strengthen their safeguarding systems.

Recently updated to better reflect inclusive and neuro-affirming practice, the Framework now more effectively supports schools in safeguarding neurodivergent students and other learners with diverse needs. Through guided exploration of the Framework and the accompanying Self-Assessment Tool, participants will actively assess their own school’s current practice, identify strengths and gaps, and develop clear next steps for improvement.  Participants will leave with concrete strategies, practical tools, and a clear roadmap for advancing their school’s safeguarding journey.
