About the event
In recent years, there has been a growing focus on the importance of the intersection between language and disability. Addressing both the language and disability-related needs of each student can be dynamic, but it can also be challenging. This presentation provides an overview of foundational tools that have been developed to support English language development for ALL students, including those with disabilities. This session will provide a brief overview of a framework that addresses both language and disability related needs. Presenters will then apply that framework to show how instructional strategies can be used to individualize instruction based on the language and disability-related needs of each student. The presenters will provide resources and share suggestions for using those resources in the classroom. There will be time for questions and discussion. By navigating the intricate balance between language and disability-related needs, our aim is to equip educators with pracctical strategies that pave the way for a truly inclusive classroom environment.Â
